Sinus Lift Procedures
Dental implants are becoming increasingly popular; unfortunately some patients develop jaw atrophy, which leaves insufficient bone for implants. In order to treat these patients, the sinus lift, sometimes called sinus augmentation is necessary. The procedure involves adding bone to your upper jaw in the area of your molars and premolars to make it taller. The bone is added between your jaw and the maxillary sinus, which are on either side of your nose. To make room for the bone, the sinus membrane has to be lifted. Drs. Bottomley, Donner, or Goodman will suggest sinus augmentation for you if the procedure is necessary.
